Seeds of Patience–April 2023

This animation project centered around the concept “waiting”. We were given complete freedom as to how we interpreted this word, and I decided to focus on an aspect of my life: waiting for plants to grow. I came up with a simple story where my cat character, Chilli, is waiting for his plants to grow but he is very impatient and distracted, to the point where he forgets that he plants seeds in the first place. I challenged myself to keep the story on one background, and make the animation eye-catching and entertaining to watch. I experimented with a style of animation where the in-between frames are extremely fast, and the pauses are very drawn-out. I hoped this would give the vibe that Chilli was moving quickly. My thought process was that if I make the animation silly, it will be more enjoyable to watch. The change in my regular style of animating resulted in an absurd animation.
